Resolve low self-esteem, addiction, and dysfunction

Unconscious shame

This course introduces you to a prison you perhaps didn’t know you were trapped in, as well as showing you the way out. That prison is unconscious shame.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will rule your life and you will call it fate.”

— Carl Jung

We live in a society that’s historically been emotionally and sexually repressed. The psychological mechanism by which we repress our feminine side, our socially unacceptable emotional and sexual impulses, is unconscious shame.

Unconscious shame encompasses all the feminine aspects of our being—our emotions, our physical body and our sexuality.

Unconscious shame

Shame passes from one generation to the next via a process known as epigenetic inheritance. This trans-generational shame effectively operates as a low-grade, hard to recognise form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Shame creates anxiety over the repressed aspects of being, and a consequent fear of discovery and punishment. As a repressed society, we have little idea what ‘normal’ emotional and sexual behaviour is—for the simple reason it hasn’t existed in human societies for thousands of years.

“What we call ‘normal’ is a product of repression, denial, splitting, projection, introjection and other forms of destructive action on experience.”

— R.D. Laing, The Politics of Experience

Shame-based issues

Unconscious shame is a layer of invisible ‘emotional concrete’ that overlays the whole of society. It’s so widespread that its effects are considered totally normal and generally pass completely unnoticed. It gives rise to a wide family of shame-based issues. These are coping mechanisms to deal with the underlying, unrecognised shame, such as:

  1. Self-harm
  2. Depersonalisation
  3. Porn addiction
  4. Sexual dysfunction
  5. Honour-based violence
  6. Involuntary celibacy
  7. Radicalisation

This course covers these issues in more detail as well as the overall framework of unconscious shame we live in.

Releasing shame

Releasing shame takes us from repressed behaviour to conform to social expectations to self-controlled behaviour that expresses who we are yet is also respectful to others.

Clearing the unconsciousThis course is a practical guide to recognising and releasing the unconscious shame that overlays our entire society and manifests in low self-esteem, destructive cyclical behaviours and addictions, and sometimes in extreme violence.
