Releasing Unconscious Shame

A step-by-step process for understanding, identifying and releasing unconscious shame

We live in a society that’s historically been emotionally and sexually repressed. Unconscious shame is the means by which we repress our socially unacceptable emotional and sexual impulses. Releasing unconscious shame is the journey out of repression.

This journey requires a theoretical understanding of unconscious shame, its extent (personal and planetary), origins and mechanics, and practical steps to communicate with our unconscious in order to release our shame.

5 layers of trauma

Releasing shame requires accepting the painful, rejected aspects of ourselves—which in turn means accepting and feeling the pain that is associated with those shamed parts of ourselves.

Thus, by definition, the journey out of shame is a journey out of pain, which is made by consciously going towards the pain and darkness at the core of our beings.

This journey requires your courage and total commitment.

“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens.”

Carl Jung

Releasing shame

The journey out of shame takes us from repressed behaviour to conform to social expectations to self-controlled behaviour that satisfies our individual needs yet is also respectful to others. We make this journey individually, and as we do so, the planet collectively begins to move out of shame.

The Releasing Unconscious Shame toolkit provides a structured framework for undoing emotional and sexual repression.
